...on a Thursday night in South Jersey, soundscaper & rhythm scientist, Mindesign, lets the needle drop on a Tomita record. The groove prompts him to recollect some other influential masters (a sonic salad spanning from Chick Corea to Renaissance to Radiohead to the late, great Jay Dee) whom have shaped the young instrumentalist's approach. Mind's guru's all seem to possess a sense of consciousness throughout their ballads, which proves to be the driving force of his craft. Fully understanding the significance of sound and creation in life, Mind channels his higher self with every fearless chord progression. With each beat reveals a new instance of the man. Emerging from the, often bashed, "Fruity Loops" era, MD has fully embraced the software culture, creating on his laptop by means of funky synth plugins and elements of the past. Whether chopping up some of the most accidental vinyl or composing an original piece from scratch [with melodious keys and layers of space and future], the presence of MD's seemingly off, but onbeat percussion is always felt, always resulting in neck-breaking, head nod action. To simply call it Glitch-Hop or Electro-Soul falls short of capturing MD's constant, reinventing vibe.
